The Internet is becoming more and more popular among kids. And we all know how dangerous cyberspace can be for young viewers.

There are many websites that have easily accessible and minimally protected adult and sexually explicit content.

Therefore, it is understandable for parents to want to protect their children from websites that may cause their children to behave in a potentially dangerous manner.

Luckily for Chrome users, there are plenty of add-ons that allow blocking websites with mature, age-inappropriate, and questionable content.

Additionally, the add-ons offer even more features for parental control besides the option to block websites. The same plug-ins can be used for multiple search engines, so even if you are not a Chrome browser user, they can still be installed on other web browsers.

How to block Adult websites on Chrome from computer

Chrome, unfortunately, doesn’t support a built-in feature for website restriction unless you are an enterprise user. However, as explained earlier, there are numerous Chrome extensions designed for filtering Google search results.

  1. To block adult content websites on Google Chrome using BlokSite, first, add the extension on your Google account.
  2. From the left-hand menu choose ‘Categories’ and click on the toggle button for Adult websites.

Android does not offer a built-in feature for blocking websites. However, it does offer a few alternative features for blocking younger audiences from downloading inappropriate content on Google Play Store.

  1. To set up a safe search tap on ‘Settings’ on ‘Google Play Store.
  2. Tap on ‘Parental Controls’ and set a PIN.

Additionally, there are a few Android apps for blocking websites with mature content.

How to Block Adult Websites on Chrome for iPhone

As opposed to Android, iOS users can restrict content on Google Chrome within the device. There are several limiting built-in options iOS devices have. The steps below refer to reciting google explicit results only.

  1. Tap on ‘Settings’.
  2. Tap on ‘Screen time

Note: You can restrict websites using the Google Family Link App only on Android and Chromebook.

Unless you are an enterprise user, you can’t really block sites directly from within Google Chrome.

The only way you can restrict access to a specific website is by installing Google’s Family Link App. The App is created for parental control and for monitoring kids’ online activity.

Furthermore, there are other features that help keep kids safe from potentially harmful content like viewing their activity.

You can also use Family Link for setting up a Gmail account for children under 13 in case they need it for online learning or other school activities.

  2. Select “Your child”.
  3. Tap “Manage settings”.

  7. At the bottom right, tap “Add an exception”.
  8. Add a website.
  9. At the top left, tap Close.
