How do I group images in Google Docs with the drawing tool?

Multiple photos can be combined into a single image using the Group option.

However, grouping and layering photographs are not the same.

When you group photos, none of the images overlap one another, butwhen you layer photographs, you can arrange the images one on top of the other.

Follow these steps to create an image group in Google Docs:

Note: Before you start the step-by-step process, bear in mind that the following steps only work for the Desktop version of Google Docs.

  1. Open your browser, go to Google Docs, and make sure you’re logged into your Google account.
  2. Open the document where you want to group photos.
  3. Put your cursor on the place where you wish to add images to your document.
  4. From the top menu, click on the ‘Insert’ menu. From the pop-up window, click on ‘Drawing’.

  2. The ‘Drawing’ tool will show up where you’ll need to add and edit the photos.
  3. To insert the photos, click on the ‘Image’ option, which is how you can insert a photo.
  4. Select the first image, and add it to the Document in Google Docs.
  5. Do the same with the other photos, and insert them one by one in the document.
  6. You can adjust them by clicking on them and moving the borders of the photos.
