By placing a line exactly beneath your text, the underlining text format option is a fantastic way to assist in highlighting your text. There are several ways to include it in your Google Sheets text data.

In Google Sheets, there are several ways to add and remove the underline format from your text.

To remove underlining in your Google Sheets document, select the underlined text, and press Ctrl + U for Windows, and Cmd + U for Mac.
The other way is to use the ‘Format’ feature - Format > Text > Underline.
Open your Google Sheet, and click on ‘View’ from the top menu. From the drop-down, click on ‘Gridlines’, and uncheck the box. The selected range of cells will no longer have any lines.
Even though ‘Bold’ and ‘Italic’ formatting is visibly placed on Google Sheets, the ‘Underline’ feature is a bit hidden.
Click on ‘Format’ > ‘Text’ > ‘Underline’ to underline the text in your cell.
